About
my story
Hi, I’m Kari. I’m a graphic designer based in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, driven by curiosity, a love of exploration, and storytelling.
I've always been drawn to beauty and believe design plays a huge role in unveiling it. Design can bring order and organization, and can disrupt, shift perspective, and unearth questions.
I love the way design evokes emotions and can resonate with you beyond words. That sense of awe, wonder, and connection keeps me creating.
I find myself disarmed by beauty on a regular basis. Whether in ta bold typeface on a train car, in the colours of my neighbourhood flowers, or in the smallest, hard-to-notice details. I'm a deep believer that details matter. They shape meaning, invite exploration, and reflect back value.
I approach my work from this posture. My goal is to bring thoughtfulness and intention to each element. Since childhood, I’ve been arranging, drawing, writing, and creating themes. By nature, I am a pretty reflective and detail-oriented person, spending a lot of time in my inner world, imagining, processing, and exploring narratives.
As a designer, my best work comes when I feel connected to the story behind it. I’m especially drawn to brand and editorial work for this reason; where narratives are translated into visual language through symbolism, type, composition, and imagery. Curiosity, empathy, presence, and a commitment to excellence shape my approach in creating work that is intentional, honest, and connected.
